The items in any process flowchart are always presented in chronological
or time sequence-the normal order in which someone would actually perform the steps
of the procedure. A process, after all, is an activity that takes place over time,
whether it's how the Earth was formed, how to make chewing gum, how to repair a car,
or how plants perform photosynthesis.
The normal direction of flow in a chart is left to right or top to bottom.
